After Santa Claus (codename: Red One) is kidnapped, the head of North Pole security (Dwayne Johnson) must join the world’s most notorious bounty hunter (Chris Evans) on an action-packed mission to save Christmas.
She should be praised for that alone
At first I was expecting a colorful Christmas movie, but Red One tried to do something different along the lines of a dark fantasy action Christmas adventure.
He did this by trying to combine action, a heartfelt message and Christmas tradition
Not quite the well executed violence of A Violent Night, Red One takes a more casual approach with its dark action fantasy that could appeal to a wider audience.
Although it is not on any prestigious holiday gift list, it is the perfect gift for family gatherings
Although it falters in its performance primarily due to plot, CGI and not fully capturing the spirit of Christmas, the film’s ambition has to be commended and is enhanced by the performances of the main cast.
